East Dallas Developmental Center (EDDC) is moving to
on September 16, 2013. The move, though technically just across the
street from our current location, will give our learning-based
childcare facility room to grow. The extra square footage gained in the
move allows EDDC to open our doors to more families in East Dallas
than ever before. The move couldn't come at a better time. The center's
wait list is long and new restaurants are moving into the area. This
new location gives EDDC the much-needed space, privacy and separate
parking it needs to continue serving the working families of the East
EDDC is gaining more than just more square
footage, we are getting a completely renovated space. Keeping in the
spirit of a school run by a board of parents, the center is tapping
into the creative resources of its families to make this renovation a
reality. A group of architects, lawyers, contractors, financial
analysts, realtors and others make up the EDDC family today. The
parents have designed the new space themselves and will be actively
involved in renovations from start to finish.
The renovated space will offer some much-needed additions to the

East Dallas Developmental Center is a warm and loving
educational environment that provides children with the foundation to
develop their social, cognitive, emotional, and physical skills. Based
on the developmental approach to early childhood education, EDDC serves
children from 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten in a setting 10 minutes
from downtown Dallas.
EDDC is a nonprofit center that has been locally
recognized for excellence in childcare. Small classes with low
teacher/child ratios, experienced staff and a superior program based on
helping each child develop as an individual are just the beginning.
EDDC was founded in 1980 by Dr. Joanne Everts and Dr.
Eric Albers. They began the center with infants and toddlers and later
expanded by adding a preschool program. In the fall of 1982, the center
was incorporated into a nonprofit organization. The center is now run
by a Board of Directors which meets monthly and plans and directs
activities for the center. The Board of Directors is composed of
parents of children enrolled at EDDC who are interested in quality
programs for young children.
EDDC does not discriminate on the basis of race,
religion, national, or ethnic origin.
